Aviation safety, air navigation systems: PAA signs two agreements
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has signed two agreements to enhance aviation safety and modernise air navigation systems, including the installation of a Rs254 million wind shear alert system at Islamabad International Airport.
The PAA said on Wednesday that the advanced system will detect sudden changes in wind speed and direction, providing timely alerts to improve aircraft safety during takeoff and landing.
The installation of the wind shear alert system, costing Rs254 million, is expected to be completed within six months.
In a separate development, the authority has also signed an agreement for the procurement of modern equipment to inspect and evaluate aviation radio systems.
The new equipment will help improve the performance and reliability of communication systems between aircraft and air traffic control, further strengthening aviation safety and operational efficiency.
