KARACHI: Consul General of Türkiye in Karachi, Ergül Kadak, has said that working with Saylani on humanitarian and welfare initiatives brings both happiness and a deep sense of satisfaction.
He said that several additional joint welfare projects with Saylani were currently under consideration, while some were already nearing completion.
He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held at the Ibn-e-Adam Saylani IT Park on Shahrah-e-Faisal, Karachi, where a modern Vocational Training Centre, established with the support of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TiKA), was formally inaugurated.
The chief guest at the ceremony was Dr. Ali Erkan, Vice President of TiKA, who had travelled from Türkiye to Pakistan especially for the occasion.
The event was also attended by Founder and Chairman of Saylani Welfare International Trust, Maulana Muhammad Bashir Farooq Qadri; Saylani Trustee Abu Faisal; T?KA Karachi Programme Coordinator Masuk Pusa, along with other distinguished guests and dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, Consul General Ergül Kadak said that several other Turkish welfare organizations were also collaborating with Saylani on humanitarian initiatives and that such cooperation would be further expanded in the future.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ali Erkan said he was delighted to visit Karachi, describing the city as the economic hub of Pakistan.
He said the establishment of a modern vocational training center for young people, with support from Türkiye, would not only help them secure employment but could also enable them to become entrepreneurs and create employment opportunities for others.
Referring to the deep-rooted friendship and strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and Türkiye, Dr. Erkan said that the two countries also shared the special bond of being brotherly Muslim nations.
Addressing the young trainees, he said: “You are not only the future of your families, but also the future of Pakistan. Saylani and T?KA have provided you with access to technology, modern equipment and high-quality training opportunities. It is now up to you to make the best possible use of these facilities. Advanced technical education is one of the key foundations of sustainable national development.”
Founder and Chairman of Saylani Welfare International Trust, Maulana Muhammad Bashir Farooq Qadri, thanked T?KA, the Government of Türkiye, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an for their continued cooperation and support.
He said that Saylani had been working with Türkiye on various joint humanitarian and welfare projects for the past seven years.
“We hope that this relationship between Saylani and Türkiye will continue to grow stronger. We also hope that, just as we have had the opportunity to meet President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an in Pakistan, we may one day have the honour of meeting him in Türkiye as well,” he said.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, commemorative shields were presented to the distinguished guests.
