ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (DPM/ FM) Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired an inter-ministerial meeting on Saturday to review preparations for the upcoming eighth session of the Pakistan–Oman Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC).
The meeting reviewed the agenda, bilateral agreements, and arrangements for the upcoming JMC, to be co-chaired by the DPM /FM of Pakistan and the Foreign Minister of Oman, aiming to deepen cooperation between Pakistan and Oman. The JMC will focus on deepening cooperation across various sectors, including trade, investment, industry, agriculture, finance, oil and gas, labour, consular affairs, security, defence, climate change, civil aviation, education, media, and culture.
Dar underscored the importance of the JMC in strengthening bilateral relations, directing all stakeholders to ensure thorough preparations and effective follow-up to secure tangible outcomes.
The meeting was attended by SAPM Tariq Bajwa; the Secretaries of the Economic Affairs Division, Interior, and Maritime Affairs; Pakistan’s Ambassador to Oman; and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other concerned ministries.
