ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Belarus on Wednesday expressed their commitment to further strengthen bilateral defence and security cooperation as a high-level Belarusian delegation met Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ).
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the delegation was led by Lieutenant General Aleksandr Volfovich, State Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the evolving regional and global security environment, matters of mutual interest and the existing scope of bilateral defence cooperation.
Field Marshal Asim Munir reiterated Pakistan’s desire to further deepen defence and security cooperation with Belarus.
The visiting dignitary reciprocated the desire to strengthen defence and security ties between the two countries and appreciated Pakistan’s role in promoting regional peace and stability.
