ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Planning has authorised Rs220.72 billion (22 percent) in development funds during the first quarter (July-September) of fiscal year 2026-27 under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), against a total allocation of Rs1 trillion for the ongoing fiscal year.
According to the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives’ latest data, a total of Rs187.5 billion has been authorised out of the Rs682.49 billion budgeted allocations for federal ministries and divisions, while the overall utilisation on the execution of federal projects stood at Rs43.853 billion in the first quarter of the financial year 2026-27.
The Planning Ministry authorised a total of Rs33.216 billion out of the Rs312.51 billion budgeted allocation for corporations, including Rs22.384 billion out of Rs224.5 billion for development projects of the National Highway Authority (NHA) and Rs10.832 billion out of Rs88 billion for the Power Division (NTDC/PEPCO).

About the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Phase-2 projects, an amount of Rs4 billion is earmarked for project liabilities, and Rs1 billion has been released for new initiatives under CPEC Phase-2.
According to the data, against the total allocation of Rs1 trillion, Rs220.721 billion was authorised, and Rs61.320 billion was spent on the execution of both federal and provincial projects during July-September 2026.
Among the federal ministries and divisions, the Planning Minister made the highest authorisation of Rs86.52 billion for development projects of the Water Resources Division, followed by the Cabinet Division with Rs30 billion and the Provinces and Special Areas with Rs22.150 billion.
A total of Rs7.162 billion has been authorised against Rs46 billion of the total budgeted allocation, and Rs9.078 billion out of Rs36.312 billion for the Federal Education and Professional Training Division for the financial year 2026-27.
The Planning Ministry authorised Rs5 billion out of the Rs40.658 billion budgeted allocation for development projects of the Railway Division. The Information Technology and Telecommunication Division was allocated Rs19.580 billion, including Rs9.801 billion in foreign assistance, against which Rs2.410 billion was authorised and Rs418.34 million was spent.
The Interior Division had a budgeted allocation of Rs21.825 billion, with Rs3.274 billion authorised and Rs345.98 million spent.
The National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Division was allocated Rs16.065 billion, of which Rs9.639 billion was authorised, and Rs644.85 million was spent. The Housing and Works Division had an allocation of Rs16.395 billion, with Rs787.14 million authorised and Rs322.33 million spent.
The Ministry authorised Rs1.34 billion for the Defence Division, Rs1.424 billion for the Revenue Division, Rs998.65 million for the Industries and Production Division, Rs514.9 million for the National Food Security and Research Division, Rs439.09 million for the Science and Technological Research Division, Rs371.61 million for the Information and Broadcasting Division, Rs304.99 million for the Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Division, Rs360.45 million for the Law and Justice Division, and Rs178 million for the Maritime Affairs Division, etc.
