The Employers’ Federation of Pakistan (EFP) has played an important role in Pakistan’s economic journey over the past several decades. Through significant challenges and remarkable opportunities alike, EFP has stood as a representative institution of our nation’s business and employers’ community.

Since 1950, EFP has made a valuable contribution to strengthening engagement among the Government, employers and workers on industrial relations, labour standards, workplace safety and economic development.

Its longstanding association with the International Labour Organization (ILO) as Pakistan’s employers’ constituent, and its membership of the International Organization of Employers (IOE), further reflect its distinguished role in connecting Pakistan’s employers’ with international institutions and practices.

I have had the privilege of being associated with EFP as a Member of its Managing Committee, representing the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 1985 and representing Pakistan at ILO Conference in Geneva.

Today, as Pakistan strives to strengthen its industrial base, enhance its competitiveness and generate employment, institutions representing employers and workers have a vital role to play. Sustainable economic development requires cooperation, meaningful dialogue and a shared commitment to productivity and decent work.

It gives me pleasure to extend my heartfelt felicitations to the leadership and members of EFP on its Platinum Jubilee, marking 76 years of dedicated service to Pakistan’s employers and business community.

I also warmly welcome Mr. Gilbert F. Houngbo, Director-General of the ILO, and Ms. Sonya Mohamed M. Janahi, Vice President, Employers Asia Group, IOE, on this historic occasion. Their presence here reflects the importance of Pakistan’s engagement with the global business and labour community, and further highlights the role of EFP as a valued partner in promoting social dialogue and economic development.

I extend my best wishes to EFP for its Platinum Jubilee celebrations and for its continued contribution to the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
