SAO PAULO: Brazil’s 2026/27 soybean crop is expected to reach a record 182.7 million metric tons, up 100,000 tons from an August forecast, AgRural analyst Adriano Gomes told Reuters on Monday.
The revision reflects a larger planted area, now estimated at 49.159 million hectares (121.47 million acres) Gomes said yield projections are still based on trend-line estimates, as planting remains in its early stages.
Brazilian farmers had planted 7.3 percent of the expected soybean area as of last Thursday, up from 3.4 percent a week earlier but below the 9.0percent pace recorded a year ago, AgRural said. Meanwhile, planting of Brazil’s 2026/27 first corn crop reached 38 percent of the estimated area in the center-south region, up from 34 percent a week earlier but below the 40percent seen at the same point last year.
