Zohaib becomes first Pakistani to be elected ASOCIO vice-chairman
KARACHI: In a landmark achievement for Pakistan’s technology sector, prominent IT industry leader and former Chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), Muhammad Zohaib Khan, has been elected as the Vice Chairman of the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO), an IT industry alliance of 26 countries.
This historic appointment makes Zohaib Khan the first-ever Pakistani to hold the prestigious position of Vice Chairman and board member in ASOCIO’s more than 25-year history of engagement with the country.
A Pride of Pakistan awardee, Khan’s election underscores the rising prominence, innovation, and global competitiveness of Pakistan’s digital ecosystem.
ASOCIO is a premier regional ICT federation that unites national technology associations from approximately 26 economies across Asia and Oceania. Established to foster cross-border collaboration, digital policy dialogue, and industry development, the organization serves as a vital bridge for tech markets throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
Commenting on his appointment, Muhammad Zohaib Khan said that that this is a proud moment for Pakistan and its IT industry. ASOCIO brings together 26 economies across the Asia-Pacific, providing an important platform for regional technology collaboration. “My focus will be on strengthening Pakistan’s presence within this ecosystem, building international partnerships, and creating greater opportunities for Pakistani IT companies and professionals across global markets”, he added.
Zohaib Khan has been a driving force in Pakistan’s tech landscape, previously leading P@SHA through transformative growth. His leadership is expected to further accelerate Pakistan’s software export growth, facilitate international joint ventures, and elevate the country’s stature as a burgeoning regional tech hub.
