PDMA Director General Muhammad Saif Anwer Jappa directed commissioners and deputy commissioners across the province to remain alert in view of the anticipated weather conditions, particularly the risk of landslides in Murree, Galyat and other hilly areas.

He said that, following the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, an alert had been issued to all district administrations. Relevant departments, including Health, Irrigation, Communication and Works, Local Government and Livestock, had also been directed to remain prepared.

The DG urged citizens to adopt precautionary measures during adverse weather and avoid staying in dilapidated or mud houses. He advised people to remain in safe places during windstorms and avoid unnecessary travel.

He also cautioned citizens against going into open areas during thunderstorms to protect themselves from lightning strikes.

Jappa appealed to parents to take special care of children and prevent them from going near accumulated water in low-lying areas, power lines and utility poles. The PDMA urged citizens to exercise caution during rainfall and contact its helpline 1129 immediately in case of an emergency.
