LAHORE: Punjab Police continues to take priority measures for the welfare of its force and their families. As part of these ongoing efforts, more than Rs 1.5295 billion has been spent this year on the welfare and well-being of police personnel and their families.
Punjab Police while sharing details, said that more than Rs 432.7 million was released as educational scholarships for the children of police personnel. More than Rs 428.5 million was provided as wedding gifts for the daughters of police employees. Similarly, more than Rs 247.2 million was released to support medical treatment and healthcare facilities for police personnel and their families, while more than Rs 233 million was paid to police employees under retirement grants.
Punjab Police further said that more than Rs 129.8 million was provided to the families of police employees as maintenance allowance. More than Rs 47.3 million was provided to the families of police personnel for funeral expenses, while more than Rs 10.7 million was released as immediate financial assistance to the police force.
IG Punjab Abdul Kareem said that the process of addressing the difficulties faced by police employees and their families through the Police Welfare Fund and other welfare resources would continue.
