PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) recorded a 24 percent growth in Sales Tax on Services (STS) collection during the first three months of the financial year 2026-27, collecting Rs 12.66 billion compared to Rs 10.2 billion during the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

According to details shared by the KPRA Media Wing on Friday, the Authority’s total collection under Sales Tax on Services and Infrastructure Development Cess (IDC) stood at Rs 13.123 billion during the first quarter.

The Authority also demonstrated strong performance in September, collecting Rs 4.65 billion under Sales Tax on Services, which represented a 35 percent increase compared to the collection recorded in September last year.

During the first quarter, KPRA collected Rs 457 million under Infrastructure Development Cess (IDC). The decline in IDC receipts was mainly attributed to the closure of Pakistan-Afghanistan border crossings, which adversely affected cross-border trade and consequently IDC collection.

Director General KPRA, Irum Naz, appreciated the dedication and hard work of KPRA officers and officials for delivering strong growth in the Authority’s core tax collection.

She expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, and Advisor to the Chief Minister on Finance, Muzzammil Aslam, for their continued guidance and support, which, she said, played an important role in strengthening KPRA’s institutional performance and advancing revenue reforms.

The director general also thanked taxpayers for their continued trust and cooperation, saying that their commitment to voluntary compliance remains the foundation of the Authority’s revenue performance.
