KARACHI: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon assures timely completion of development projects remains a top priority of the provincial government, with more than 9,000 of over 13,000 schemes launched by the Pakistan People’s Party-led government completed so far.
In a statement on Friday, Memon, who holds portfolios of Information, Transport and Mass Transit, said work on 724 kilometres of roads in flood-affected areas is more than 80 percent.
He said the government was also expanding Karachi’s public transport network, with the Orange Line and Green Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) services providing commuting facilities to millions of people.
Construction on various sections of the Yellow Line and Red Line BRT projects was progressing rapidly, he said, adding that new electric buses and double-decker buses would arrive in Karachi soon.
Sharjeel said the government was focused on completing development projects on schedule so that citizens could benefit from improved infrastructure and public transport.
