KARACHI: Gold prices on Thursday dropped noticeably, seeing a downtrend in the world bullion market, traders said.

The yellow metal value receded sharply by Rs3,000 and Rs2,572, reaching Rs438,636 per tola and Rs376,059 per 10 grams, All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association said.

World market shed gold bullion rates by $30, settling at $4,161 per ounce with silver selling at $60.5 per ounce, dipping by $0.5, it added.

Domestic silver prices inched down by Rs50 and Rs43, as the white metal now available for Rs6,528 per tola and Rs5,596 per 10 grams, respectively, the association said.

It is important to understand that the open market trade gold and silver at prices differing those announced by the association as per “the interbank exchange rates.”
