SBP-held foreign exchange reserves rise $39m to $21.44bn

Foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) increased by $39 million during the week ended September 25, 2026, reaching $21.439 billion, according to data released by the central bank on Thursday.
The country’s total liquid foreign reserves stood at $26.771 billion as of September 25, compared with $26.811 billion a week earlier.
Of the total reserves, $21.439 billion were held by the SBP, while net foreign reserves held by commercial banks stood at $5.332 billion.
The latest increase takes SBP-held reserves to their highest level in the reported period.
“During the week ended on 25-Sep-2026, SBP’s FX reserves increased by US$39 million to US$21,439.2 million,” the central bank said.
Last week, the country’s foreign exchange reserves rose by $11 million to $21.4 billion.
