ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday again issued arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and other Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders in a case registered against them pertaining to November 26 protest.

ATC judge Tahir Abbas Sipra while hearing the case, issued arrest warrants for Afridi, PTI’s Kyber Pakhtunkhwa president Junaid Akbar, MPA Abdul Ghani Afridi and others over their repeated failure to appear before it in a case registered against them at Margalla police station.

The court ordered police to arrest them and produce them before the court. During the hearing, the judge directed police to submit charge sheet of the case as soon as possible. The court adjourned the hearing of the case till October 9.

Meanwhile, the same court deferred the announcement of the verdict in November 26 protest case as the statements of accused under Section 342 of Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) has not yet been completed.

ATC judge Tahir Abbas Sipra did not announce the judgment of the case as the statements of all nine accused under Section 342 of the CrPC had not yet been completed in a case registered against PTI workers in connection with the party’s November 26 protest at Secretariat police station.

The court said that the decision would be announced after the statements of all nine accused under Section 342 were completed in a case registered at Secretariat police station. The court adjourned hearing of the case till October 2.
