Usman Zaheer Ahmad, who resigned as chief executive officer of Fauji Foods Limited last week, has been appointed CEO of FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited (FCEPL), the company said in a filing with the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Tuesday.
“This is to inform you that the Board of Directors has approved the appointment of Usman Zaheer Ahmad as CEO of FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited,” read the notice.
“The date of joining of Usman Zaheer Ahmad will be informed in due course,” the company added.
The development comes a day after it was learnt that Kashan Hasan resigned from his positions as chief executive and director of FCEPL.
According to information on Usman’s LinkedIn profile, he has served as CEO of Fauji Foods Limited since March 2022, overseeing Fauji Group’s consumer business, which spans dairy, cereals, pasta, and frozen fruits and vegetables across four factories.
Prior to this, he was CEO of Nishat Sutas Dairy from April 2019 to March 2022, having been involved in the joint venture between Nishat Group and Turkiye’s Sutas from its inception.
FCEPL is a public limited company that began as Engro Foods in 2005. It is a subsidiary of FrieslandCampina Pakistan Holding B.V., which in turn is a subsidiary of the Dutch multinational corporation Royal FrieslandCampina, the ultimate parent company of FCEPL. Royal FrieslandCampina made a significant foreign direct investment of $450 million in Pakistan’s dairy sector in 2016 through the acquisition of Engro Foods.
FCEPL operates two production facilities in Sukkur and Sahiwal, and a dairy farm in Nara, supported by over 1300 milk collection centres. The company is involved in the manufacturing, processing, and sale of dairy products and frozen desserts.
