Corps Commander House: Former PTI MPA sent to jail for identification parade
LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Tuesday sent former PTI MPA Shabbir Gujjar to jail for an identification parade in connection with the case relating to the attack on the Corps Commander House.
Earlier, the investigating officer informed the court that Gujjar was allegedly involved in the case and sought permission to conduct his identification parade.
The court allowed the request and directed the investigators to complete the process within seven days.
Gujjar’s counsel opposed the request, arguing that the police had not declared his client wanted in the case for the past three years. He claimed that Gujjar’s arrest was linked to his political affiliation with the PTI and contended that there was no justification for keeping him in custody. The defence counsel requested the court to discharge Gujjar from the case.
However, the public prosecutor opposed the request, maintaining that the identification parade was necessary for the investigation.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court sent Shabbir Gujjar to jail for the identification parade.
