TOKYO: Japan’s Nikkei share average erased early gains to end little changed on Tuesday, as higher oil prices and rising bond yields hurt investor sentiment, while SoftBank Group rebounded from a selloff in the previous session.
The Nikkei closed 0.01 percent lower at 63,484.1 after rising about 1 percent earlier. The broader Topix fell 0.52 percent to 4,037.16.
“The rise in oil prices as well as higher government bond yields weighed on investor sentiment,” said Daisuke Hashizume, senior strategist at Daiwa Securities.
