Security forces have killed 12 terrorists in an intelligence-based operation in Kalat district of Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Friday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted on September 2 following reports about the presence of terrorists belonging to what it described as the Indian proxy “Fitna al Hindustan”.

During the operation, the forces identified and monitored a terrorist hideout before busting it through a “prompt and surgical” action, the ISPR said.

“All 12 Indian-sponsored terrorists” were killed, while a cache of ammunition and improvised explosive devices was destroyed at the site, it added.

Sanitisation operations were under way to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area, the military’s media wing said.

The ISPR said the counterterrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, would continue at full pace.

The campaign, it added, would continue until the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism was eliminated from the country.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday praised the security forces for killing 12 Fitna al Hindustan terrorists in an operation in Kalat, vowing that the fight against terrorism would continue until the menace was completely eliminated, PM Office stated.
