ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy has launched its major maritime exercise Sea Spark 2026, aimed at assessing its operational preparedness against conventional and emerging maritime threats amid what the naval leadership described as an increasingly complex and volatile regional security environment.

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, who was the chief guest at the opening briefing in Karachi, said the Pakistan Navy could not afford to compromise on its operational readiness in the prevailing security environment.

The Naval Chief stressed the growing importance of the information domain in modern warfare and called for stronger joint planning and coordination among the three armed forces to respond effectively to the changing nature of conflict.

The exercise will test Pakistan Navy’s operational capabilities across multiple domains and involve warships, submarines, aircraft, drones, Pakistan Marines and Special Operations Forces.

Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force will also participate in Sea Spark 2026, demonstrating joint operational planning and integrated combat capabilities among the three services.

During the exercise, Admiral Naveed Ashraf visited Pakistan Navy warships and reviewed ongoing operational activities. He also interacted with officers and sailors serving with fleet units.

According to the Pakistan Navy, Sea Spark 2026 reflects its commitment to maintaining operational superiority across all domains of maritime warfare and strengthening preparedness against evolving threats.
