Pakistan and Kuwait on Thursday signed the “Protocol Agreement-2026”, aimed at significantly enhancing military cooperation between the two countries, the Ministry of Defence said.
The agreement was signed during a visit by a high-level Kuwaiti delegation led by Defence Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Saleem Al-Sabah, accompanied by Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Khalid Darj Saad Al-Shriaan.
The delegation called on Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif at the Ministry of Defence in Rawalpindi, where the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, particularly bilateral defence relations and security cooperation.
Under the new agreement, the Armed Forces of Pakistan will provide assistance to Kuwait’s armed forces in diverse areas, including training, capacity building, border management and other mutually agreed fields of defence collaboration.
The agreement builds on the existing military cooperation framework established under the “Defence Cooperation Agreement-2023”.
Both sides reaffirmed their resolve to further strengthen their defence partnership, saying the cooperation reflected deep trust, mutual respect and shared strategic interests between the two brotherly countries, and would contribute to mutual security and regional peace and stability.
