Pakistan offers Bangladesh cooperation on legal reforms, digital justice

The offer was made by Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar during a meeting with Bangladesh High Commissioner to Pakistan Md. Iqbal Hussain Khan in Islamabad on Monday, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice.

The two sides discussed bilateral relations, legal and judicial cooperation, mediation and reconciliation mechanisms, and other matters of mutual interest. They expressed satisfaction over recent positive developments in Pakistan-Bangladesh relations and agreed to further strengthen bilateral linkages.

Tarar said both countries could benefit from each other’s experiences in legal reforms, modern technology and the digitisation of justice systems, adding that Pakistan was ready to share its expertise in these areas.

The Bangladesh high commissioner thanked Pakistan for facilitating the training of Bangladeshi judges at the International Mediation & Arbitration Centre and appreciated the ministry’s cooperation in mediation and reconciliation programmes.

Both sides also welcomed increased people-to-people and institutional contacts and reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation in legal and judicial fields.
