TTP, BLA in contact with each other: Bilawal

Published Updated

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has said that separatist forces, including the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) are in contact with each other and have their bases in Afghanistan.

Talking to the media in the corridors of Parliament on Thursday, Bilawal Bhutto further alleged that India is facilitating these groups.

Bilawal clarified his earlier remarks regarding nationalists, saying that he had actually been referring to separatist forces. He acknowledged that he had used the wrong choice of words in his earlier statement.

“My meaning was that I was referring to separatist groups which use violence and are involved in terrorism. We know that either they are in Balochistan or that incidents of terrorism take place in the country. Such groups are interconnected, and they cooperate, and their base is outside the country, in Afghanistan, and their facilitators are either in our neighbouring country.”
