Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Kainat Azhar Khan said that compliance with traffic laws is not merely a matter of fines or legal action; it is essential for protecting precious human lives and ensuring a safe travel environment.
She said that the public needs to follow traffic laws, observe speed limits, ensure helmet use while riding motorcycles, and follow lane discipline and other traffic regulations.
“The objective of ITP is not to cause unnecessary inconvenience to citizens but to provide them with a safe and organized traffic system”, she said, adding that violations of traffic laws not only endanger the lives of drivers and other road users but also disrupt traffic flow.
She said that ITP is not only focusing on enforcement but also on public awareness and education so that citizens voluntarily consider compliance with traffic laws their responsibility.
ITP will continue to utilize all available resources to prevent accidents, ensure smooth traffic flow, enforce the law uniformly, and provide the best possible travel facilities to citizens, she said.
