The federal government increased the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) by Rs1.64 per litre and petrol by Re0.27 per litre, effective Friday, August 21.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Thursday revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products under the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism.

The price of petrol was increased by Re0.27 per litre, taking it from Rs337.51 to Rs337.78 per litre.

The price of HSD was raised by Rs1.64 per litre, from Rs363.06 to Rs364.70 per litre.

The new prices will remain in effect until tomorrow, in line with the government’s ongoing practice of adjusting fuel prices based on international oil markets and other cost factors.

In the previous review on Wednesday, the government announced a sharp reduction of Rs32.63 per litre in the price of HSD, while petrol became costlier by Rs2.97 per litre.
