LAHORE: Provincial Assembly members from Muzaffargarh met Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. The meeting discussed the political situation in the country and development projects in South Punjab.
The MPAs paid tribute to Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for the record number of development projects initiated in South Punjab. They thanked the chief minister for launching the Electrobus and Clean Water projects in Muzaffargarh.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said the PML-N believed in genuine public development rather than hollow slogans and false claims. “Addressing the deprivations of the people of South Punjab is our top priority,” she said. She added that she had personally supervised the rescue and relief operation when floods hit South Punjab last year.
She said providing relief and creating ease for people living in every backward and deprived area was her greatest source of satisfaction.
The provincial assembly members said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif had set a remarkable example by launching every mega project from South Punjab. “Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s selfless service has won the hearts of the people of South Punjab,” they said.
They said the Chief Minister had changed the fate of Punjab’s backward areas by giving them special attention. They said thousands of people were benefiting daily from the Electrobus service on the Fazal Mill–Khanpur Baga Sher, Railway Phatak–Mahmood Mills, Jhang Mor–Turki Hospital and Railway Phatak routes.
The MPAs said the people of Muzaffargarh were also benefiting from the construction and rehabilitation of link roads under the Chief Minister’s Local Roads Programme.
