KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Wednesday inaugurated rehabilitation and development works worth Rs145 million in several union councils of Gulistan-e-Johar.
He said the projects would improve local roads and streets, and providing residents with better basic civic facilities.
“The objective is to provide basic civic facilities to the people and ensure development works across different areas of Karachi without discrimination,” he said.
Wahab directed officials to maintain quality and durability in development projects so that residents could benefit from the infrastructure over the long term.
He said that the KMC was expanding development work across the megacity, prioritising areas where basic municipal infrastructure was most urgently required.
The Mayor said available resources were being utilised to accelerate development projects and improve Karachi’s infrastructure, cleanliness and civic services.
He pledged that the administration would continue implementing development commitments and undertaking practical measures to improve quality of life for Karachi’s residents.
