Security forces have eliminated over nine terrorists during a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) targeting terrorist hideouts across various districts of Balochistan, state media PTV News reported citing security sources on Tuesday.

During the coordinated operations, troops effectively targeted terrorist hideouts in the mountainous terrains of Ziarat and Harnai, as well as in the Surab district, resulting in the destruction of multiple terrorist sanctuaries and the recovery of significant arms caches.

The security sources said forces executed precise strikes against terrorist bases in Harnai and Ziarat, killing the majority of the terrorists and dismantling their operational infrastructure.

Simultaneously, an operation in the Surab district resulted in the neutralisation of another terrorist. Following the kinetic actions, security personnel recovered a substantial quantity of ammunition, hand grenades, and military hardware from the slain terrorists’ possession. A comprehensive clearance operation remains underway in the affected areas to ensure the elimination of any remaining threats.

The latest intelligence-based strikes follow a successful military engagement in the Killi Zaik area of Balochistan yesterday, where security forces killed two terrorists and injured three others.

One of the deceased terrorists from the Killi Zaik engagement was identified as Mushtaq Ahmed, alias Koh Yar. Security personnel retrieved arms, magazines, hand grenades, and explosive materials from his possession.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for the successful IBOs and their professional abilities.

Security forces on August 16 killed seven terrorists of Fitna al-Khawarij and wounded several others during an intelligence-based operation in Lajay area of Kharan district in Balochistan, Aaj News had reported citing security sources.

According to the sources, the operation was launched after intelligence reports indicated the presence of terrorists in the area. Seven terrorists were killed while several others sustained injuries during the action.
