LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari has said that there is no opposition to Sindh as a province.
“If performance is taken as a taunt, then performance will certainly be discussed,” she said.
Azma Bokhari said that those making corruption allegations without any evidence could also be taken to court. She said that if questions were raised about holding press conferences without evidence, it would then be termed political victimisation.
The Punjab Information Minister said, “Those in whose province Rs8 billion corruption takes place in a single road project will question us? Those whose own Sindh government everything from electric fans to entire examination centres gets booked will question us? Those where ‘Shishtam’ has a particular meaning will question us?”
Azma Bokhari said that scandals take place in Sindh, not Punjab. “If there is any irregularity in Punjab, the Chief Minister and her team themselves bring it to light; they do not protect anyone,” she added.
The Punjab Information Minister said that, Alhamdulillah, the provision of clean drinking water in Punjab is continuing. She said that Maryam Nawaz had held her fifth consecutive meeting on the matter even today.
She said that thousands of litres of free bottled water were being delivered door-to-door to people living in remote areas of Punjab. “Those who cannot provide clean water to children in Thar, where humans and animals drink from the same water sources, are now concerned about clean water in Punjab — what remarkable people they are,” she remarked.
Azma Bokhari said that Maryam Nawaz had not left Punjab at the mercy of the tanker mafia.
