Govt increases diesel price by Rs6.47, petrol's by Rs5.77 per litre

The federal government raised the price of High Speed Diesel (HSD) by Rs6.47 per litre, and the Motor Spirit (petrol) by Rs5.77 per litre for Tuesday, August 18.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Monday revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products under the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism.
The price of petrol was increased by Rs5.77 per litre, taking it from Rs325.43 to Rs331.20 per litre.
The price of HSD was raised by Rs6.47 per litre, from Rs383.95 to Rs390.42 per litre.
The new prices will remain in effect until tomorrow, in line with the government’s ongoing practice of adjusting fuel prices based on international oil markets and other cost factors.
In the previous review on Thursday, the government raised the price of HSD by Rs1.16 per litre, and petrol by Re0.45 per litre.
