Federal capital witnesses over 57 incidents of various crimes

ISLAMABAD: The federal capital witnessed over 57 incidents of crime, including carjacking, mobile phone and cash snatching, as well as robberies, during the last week.

The data collected by Business Recorder revealed that 57 incidents of crime included 30 carjacking cases, 11 cases of street crime [mobile phone and cash snatching at gunpoint], and 16 cases of various kinds of theft, including robberies, in which citizens lost valuables worth millions of rupees.

The data revealed that during the last week, criminal gangs were most active within the jurisdictions of Industrial Area, Ramana, Khanna, Noon, Sangjani, Bhara Kahu and Aabpara police stations. The 32 vehicles stolen during the last week include one car and 29 motorbikes.

In the same period, auto thieves stole three motorbikes from the limits of Aabpara police station, three motorbikes from the jurisdiction of Ramana police station, another three motorbikes from the jurisdiction of Bhara Kahu, two from the limits of Karachi Company police station, two bikes from the jurisdiction of Golra, as well as another two motorbikes stolen from the limits of Sihala police station.

During the last week, Industrial Area police registered three cases of robbery, two cases of street crime [snatching of mobile phones and cash] and one case of auto theft; two cases of robbery and three cases of carjacking were registered at Ramana police station, and another two cases each of robbery and auto theft, as well as one case of street crime, were reported to Khanna police station.

Furthermore, two cases of street crime and one case each of robbery and auto theft were registered at Noon police station, and another four cases of robbery were reported to Sangjani police station.

Similarly, one case each of robbery, street crime and auto theft was registered at Shams Colony police station, two cases of street crime were registered at Margalla police station, and another two cases of street crime were registered at Shalimar police station.
