LAHORE: The Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) on Friday held an Independence Day ceremony, showcasing unwavering patriotism and dedication to the development and progress of our great nation.
Moreover, the RUDA initiated its largest CSR plantation initiative to date, with as many as 30,000 trees being planted across key sites of RUDA to mark the Independence Day.
The event was attended by RUDA CEO Imran Amin and COO Mansoor Janjua, heads of departments, along with the entire workforce of RUDA, as they came together to commemorate this auspicious occasion.
A flag-hoisting ceremony was held along with cake cutting at RUDA headquarters, resonating with the spirit of freedom, unity, and a shared commitment to the growth and prosperity of the beloved country. It provided a unique platform for employees to express their love for the nation while reaffirming their dedication to the authority’s mission of building a sustainable urban environment that would enhance the quality of life for all citizens.
On this occasion, RUDA CEO Imran Amin highlighted the significance of Independence Day and the crucial role each employee plays in the ongoing development and progress of our nation. “As we celebrate Independence Day, we are reminded of the immense potential and responsibility we bear as citizens and as a development authority.”
RUDA COO Mansoor Janjua emphasised the importance of collective effort, teamwork, and innovative thinking in driving both RUDA’s success and contributing to the nation’s growth. He said that RUDA’s Independence Day ceremony embodies the spirit of patriotism and progress. Through their dedication, innovation, and shared vision, the RUDA continues to be at the forefront of shaping a brighter future for our nation, he added.
It is pertinent to add that to commemorate Independence Day, the RUDA has also launched a soul-touching national song ‘Mera Pakistan’ along with a heart-warming documentary ‘A Train to Pakistan’.
Moreover, in line with the directives of the Chief Minister Punjab for green initiatives, RUDA, in collaboration with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Environment Protection and Climate Change Department (EPCCD), initiated its CSR plantation drive.
The plantation drive extends from RUDA Industrial Zone to RUDA’s villages and Chaharbagh, creating greener corridors and strengthening the authority’s footprint for sustainability across its development area. RUDA’s plantation drive is being headed by RUDA CSR and the engineering division, as the initiative will also complement RUDA’s flagship community-focused projects.
While initiating the plantation drive in RUDA jurisdiction, RUDA Director CSR Fatima Ali Khan said that through this large-scale initiative, RUDA is advancing green infrastructure alongside community development, reinforcing its vision of sustainable urbanisation and a greener, more resilient Punjab.
