Flag-hoisting ceremony held at Fesco HQs

FAISALABAD: A dignified flag hoisting ceremony was held at the FESCO Headquarters to commemorate Pakistan’s Independence Day. Chief Executive Officer FESCO, Engineer Muhammad Aamer, was the chief guest of the ceremony.

Addressing the ceremony, Chief Executive FESCO Engr Muhammad Aamer said that on Independence Day the whole nation should offer thanks to Almighty Allah for blessing it with a free and dignified country where people are able to live according to their religious beliefs. He said the nation’s forefathers achieved freedom after passing through difficult and thorny paths. “They had to make enormous sacrifices of their lives, property, honour and dignity and shed their blood to break the chains of slavery through continuous struggle. As a result, Pakistan emerged on the world map as a separate Islamic ideological state.”

He paid rich tribute to the martyrs of the independence movement who sacrificed their today for the nation’s tomorrow. He said “the only way to repay the debt of their sacrifices was to play our role in building a developed, peaceful and self-reliant Pakistan in accordance with their dreams.”

He further said “as a nation we must pledge to utilize all our individual and collective capabilities to make Pakistan a great country and enable it to attain a prominent position among the nations of the world.”

On the occasion commemorating the unforgettable sacrifices of the nation, Muhammad Aamer urged all FESCO officers and employees to perform their duties with greater dedication and hard work to improve the company and take it to further heights of development. He said that strong institutions are essential for the progress of the country.

CEO FESCO also congratulated Director General Administration Farrukh Aftab and his team on successfully organizing the ceremony.

Earlier, all participants, led by CEO FESCO Engr Muhammad Aamer, took part in the flag-hoisting ceremony, followed by the national anthem and cake-cutting ceremony. Muhammad Aamer also distributed sweets and gifts among the children present at the event.

FESCO General Managers, Chief Engineers, Directors General, Directors, Deputy Directors, other FESCO officers, employees and a large number of children attended the ceremony.

FESCO Headquarters, circle and division offices as well as grid station buildings were specially illuminated to mark Independence Day. Flag-hoisting ceremonies were also held at all FESCO circles.
