Microsoft is offering its own customized versions of the latest phones by Samsung at its store across the United States.

Same as last year’s Microsoft-version of Samsung Galaxy S8, the software giant has continued its partnership with Samsung, allowing Microsoft to sell customized version of Galaxy S9 and S9+ in its stores.

“The phones look the same as the standard version at first glance and the hardware is exactly the same. The operating system (OS) will be the same too. It’s the apps that are different,” Digital Trends reported.  A range of Microsoft applications such as Skype, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, OneNote and Microsoft Launcher will be made available after setting up the phone.

Users can experience Galaxy S9/S9+ via Samsung’s new app

However, the apps would not be available by default. “A Microsoft customization is applied to the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus Microsoft Edition when the devices are unboxed and connected to Wi-Fi,” Trusted Reviews quoted a statement by the software giant. The price of this specialized version is same as flagship devices sold on Samsung stores.

According to Microsoft, the number of customized Samsung devices is limited. The phone is open for pre-orders.
