KARACHI: Gold ended its consecutive uptrend on Thursday, falling significantly after the world market’s decline, traders said.
Gold prices dropped by Rs3,500 to Rs460,436 per tola with its 10 gram value by Rs3,001 to Rs394,749, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.
World bullion market closed on a negative note, sliding by USD35 to settle at USD4380 per ounce with silver edging lower by USD2 to USD65 per ounce, it added.
Domestic silver prices also dipped by Rs175 and Rs150, reaching Rs6936 per tola and Rs5,946 per 10 grams, respectively, the jewellers association said.
It is important to know that the open market may be trading gold and silver at different prices as compared to those set by the association, which links the local bullion valuation to the interbank exchange rates.
