18 terrorists killed in VBIED explosion, security operation in Balochistan

Eighteen Fitna Al Hindustan terrorists were killed in Balochistan after a premature VBIED detonation and subsequent security operations, which also resulted in three civilian deaths.

Eighteen terrorists affiliated with Fitna Al Hindustan were killed in separate incidents following the premature detonation of a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) in Surab district of Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Wednesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), an under-preparation VBIED detonated on the morning of August 12 while terrorists were preparing it, killing eight terrorists and injuring several others.
The blast, followed by the detonation of other explosives stored at the site, also resulted in the deaths of three nearby civilians, it said.
Security forces and Balochistan Police immediately reached the site and launched a joint clearance operation to track down the perpetrators and their facilitators.
During the operation, security forces detected the movement of fleeing terrorists and engaged them, killing 10 more, according to ISPR.
“Thus, a total of eighteen terrorists affiliated with Fitna Al Hindustan have been eliminated in these incidents so far,” the military’s media wing said.
Two security personnel also sustained injuries during an intense exchange of fire, it added.
Sanitisation operations are continuing in the area to eliminate any remaining terrorists.
ISPR said the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, would continue with full force to eliminate foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
