KARACHI: Gold became costlier on Tuesday, posting a sizeable value as the international bullion market’s uptrend persisted, traders said.
The price of the precious metal went up by Rs2,400 to settle at Rs459,736 per tola with 10 grams value soaring by Rs2,058 to Rs394,149, the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association said.
On the global market, gold bullion rates grew by USD24, reaching USD4,373 per ounce while silver edged higher by USD1, closing at USD65 per ounce, the association added.
Domestic market was trading silver for Rs6,965 per tola and Rs5,971 per 10 grams after inching up by Rs62 and Rs53, respectively, it said.
The open market may be trading gold and silver at prices differing those announced by the association, which says, they are based on interbank exchange rates.
