Gold prices rise by Rs800 to Rs 457,336 per tola

KARACHI: Gold prices upward journey continued on Monday, edging higher after a slight rise in the world bullion value, traders said.

All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association cited small gains in gold prices, rising by Rs800 to reach Rs457,336 per tola and Rs685 to Rs392,091 per 10 grams.

The international market showed a little momentum, driving up bullion prices slightly by $8 to settle at USD4349 per ounce, while silver rose by USD0.77 to USD64.24 per ounce, it added.

Tracking the global market, domestic silver prices moved up by Rs77 and Rs66, tagging the metal at Rs6903 per tola and Rs5918 per 10 grams, respectively.

It is worth noting the open market may be selling gold and silver at different prices as compared to those set by the association, which claims, they are based on interbank exchange rates.
