Dar, Canadian FM discuss Makkah agreement

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar spoke with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand, Foreign Office said on Sunday.

The two exchanged views on the regional situation, including the recently signed Makkah Joint Defence Agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, the FO said in a statement.

DPM Dar shared with FM Anand the essence of the agreement and the joint resolve of the three countries to contribute to regional peace, stability and security, the statement said.

They also discussed the evolving situation in the US-Iran context, the statement added.

The DPM also raised the situation in Occupied East Jerusalem, including the Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem recently held in Jordan, said the statement.

The two officials agreed to remain closely engaged on issues of shared interest, the statement added.
