AJK PSC gets seven new members

MIRPUR: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has approved the appointment of seven members to the AJK Public Service Commission (PSC), according to an official notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) on Sunday.

The appointments were approved by the President of AJK under Article 48(2) of the AJK Interim Constitution and the AJK Public Service Commission Act, 1986. The newly appointed members include Munir Hussain Chaudhry, retired Secretary to the Government; Dr. Liaqat Hussain, retired Senior Member board of Revenue; Muhammad Zahid Khan, retired Director General Health; Prof. Dr. Abdul Qadoos Khan, retired professor; Dr Abdul Hameed, retired vice chancellor; Midhat Shahzad, retired Additional Chief Secretary (General); and Dr. Muhammad Saleem Khan, retired medical specialist.

According to the notification, the newly appointed members will serve for a three-year term and will be entitled to salary and allowances in accordance with the prescribed rules. Their appointments are aimed at strengthening the functioning of the commission and ensuring the continuity of its statutory responsibilities.

The notification further stated that the newly appointed members would assume their respective responsibilities from the date they take the oath of office.
