KARACHI: District South authorities sealed a commercial building in Saddar after sewage from the premises spilled onto a road, causing inconvenience to residents and traders.

The building located in the Electronics Market in Saddar was sealed following repeated warnings to its management to fix the faulty drainage system, which were ignored.

According to an official report submitted by the Deputy Commissioner of South,Javed Nabi Khoso, to the Commissioner of Karachi, Syed Hasan Naqvi, the action was taken by Assistant Commissioner Ghazanfar Pardakh with the support of police and in consultation with the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation.

Authorities said the malfunctioning sewerage system had led to unhygienic conditions in the area.

Wastewater accumulating on the road created inconvenience and posed health risks to the public.

Officials said the building would be reopened only after its sewerage system was fully repaired and restored to proper working condition.
