Gold prices improve further

KARACHI: Gold prices grew further on Saturday, adding more value to per tola after world bullion market closed on a positive note, traders said.

All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association noted that gold prices gained a sizeable value of Rs2200 to reach Rs456,536 per tola. Price of 10 grams was cited at Rs391, 406, up by Rs1887.

Global bullion market registered an increase of $22, settling at $4341 per ounce while silver was selling for $63.47 per ounce, edging lower by $1.13, the association added.

Following suit, the domestic silver prices also dropped by Rs113 and Rs97 to Rs6826 per tola and Rs5852 per 10 grams, respectively, it said. It is important to know that the open market may sell gold and silver at prices differing those set by the association, which claims that the bullion value is based on the interbank exchange rates.
