Wafi Energy expands fuel storage with new gasoline tank in KP

KARACHI: Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited has expanded its fuel storage infrastructure with the inauguration of a 7.4 million-litre motor gasoline storage tank at its Tarru Jabba terminal in Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the company said on Wednesday.

According to a statement, the new storage facility is aimed at strengthening the company’s fuel storage capacity and improving the reliability of fuel supplies in the region, including along key transport routes leading to northern tourist destinations.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by officials of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), led by Senior Executive Director (Enforcement) Sohail Ahmed Tariq, along with representatives of Wafi Energy Pakistan.

Speaking at the ceremony, Wafi Energy Pakistan Chief Executive Officer Zubair Shaikh said the company was continuing to invest in Pakistan’s energy infrastructure to support growing fuel demand.

He said reliable fuel supply depends on adequate storage capacity and its proximity to customers, adding that the latest investment would strengthen the company’s ability to serve consumers while supporting the expansion of its Shell retail network across the country.

The company said construction of the storage tank was completed over a period of one year, during which around 300,000 work-hours were recorded without safety incidents.

According to the statement, Wafi Energy Pakistan’s Shell retail network now comprises more than 700 fuel stations nationwide following the addition of 32 new retail sites during 2026.

The company said the investment forms part of its long-term strategy to strengthen Pakistan’s fuel storage infrastructure and support the country’s growing energy requirements.
