Trade, investment, energy and other sectors: Pakistan, Azerbaijan discuss cooperation

LAHORE: Azerbaijan’s outgoing Ambassador to Pakistan, Khazar Farhadov, on Thursday called on Acting Governor Punjab and Speaker of the Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan at the Governor’s House.

The meeting focused on bilateral relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan with detailed discussions on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, energy, education, tourism, and other areas of mutual interest.

Speaking on the occasion, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan said Pakistan and Azerbaijan share a longstanding relationship based on mutual trust, shared values, and enduring friendship. He stressed the need to further strengthen collaboration in key sectors, particularly trade, energy, education, tourism, and investment, adding that both the countries should fully utilise the vast opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation.

The acting governor commended Ambassador Khazar Farhadov for his valuable diplomatic services during his tenure in Pakistan, saying he had played a significant role in further strengthening the cordial relations between the two brotherly countries. He extended his best wishes to the ambassador for his future assignments and prayed for his continued success.

Ambassador Khazar Farhadov thanked the government and people of Pakistan for their support and hospitality during his stay in the country. He expressed confidence that the fraternal ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan would continue to grow stronger and reaffirmed his commitment to promoting bilateral cooperation, investment, and people-to-people exchanges.

The meeting was also attended by Punjab Assembly Secretary General Chaudhry Amer Habib, Speaker’s Adviser Usama Khawar, Principal Secretary Amad Hussain Bhalli, Malik Taimoor, and Malik Ali.
