KARACHI: Gold prices again soared, posting mammoth gains on Thursday, tracking a bullish global market trend, traders said.
The All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association reported significant increases in both local and international bullion prices, showing strong buyers sentiments.
Following the surging global bullion market, local gold prices moved up by Rs11,300 and Rs9,688 to hit Rs449,236 per tola and Rs385,147 per 10 grams, respectively, the association said.
Domestic silver prices were cited at Rs6,659 per tola up by Rs35 and Rs5,709 per 10 grams up Rs30. International gold valued at USD4,268 per ounce, up by USD113 while silver was selling for USD61.80 per ounce, up by USD0.35.
It is important to understand that the open market may trade gold and silver at spot prices, differ those announced by the association.
