Youm-e-Istehsal: CM reaffirms unwavering support for Kashmiris

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the oppressed people of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir on Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir and paid tribute to the resilience of the families of those martyred in the freedom struggle.

She urged the United Nations and all international human rights organisations to take immediate notice of the grave human rights violations in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

In her message issued on Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir, the chief minister said Aug 5, 2019, marked an assault on the identity of the Kashmiri people, which Pakistan will never accept.

She said the slogan “Kashmir Banega Pakistan” was now resonating across the world and described the Kashmir dispute as the greatest ongoing tragedy on the face of the earth.

The CM Punjab said Indian oppression in occupied Jammu and Kashmir had fuelled continued suffering in the region. She said Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had always maintained a clear and unequivocal stance on occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The chief minister said Pakistan would continue to support its Kashmiri brethren in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, adding that the people of Pakistan stood, and will continue to stand, with the Kashmiris in their long struggle for the right to self-determination.
