LAHORE: The CM Punjab Cricket Champions League, Pakistan’s biggest domestic cricket event after the PSL got underway on Monday under the auspices of Sports Board Punjab.
The league matches of CM Punjab Champions League are being organised in Multan, Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan Divisions, while the grand final will be played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
A total of 12 teams comprising national and international cricketers are participating in the championship, which aims to provide a competitive platform for emerging and established talent from across Punjab.
As many as four matches were played on the opening day. Faisalabad Hawks faced Sahiwal Stallions at Dring Stadium, Bahawalpur, Lahore Strikers took on Gujrat Thunder at the DG Khan Cricket Stadium, and Multan Mavericks played Lahore Tigers at the Sports Complex Cricket Ground, Multan while the fourth fixture was played between Bahawalpur Nawabs and Lahore Lions at Dring Stadium, Bahawalpur, a spokesman of SBP, said.
The participating teams are Lahore Lions, Bahawalpur Nawabs, Faisalabad Hawks, Sargodha Shaheens, Gujranwala Warriors, Gujrat Thunder, Lahore Strikers, DG Khan Titans, Lahore Tigers, Multan Mavericks, Sahiwal Stallions and Rawalpindi Panthers.
All matches of the CM Punjab Champions League are being broadcast live, enabling cricket fans across the country to follow the action throughout the tournament.
