The government decreased the price of petrol by Rs4.08 per litre while cutting the high-speed diesel (HSD) price by Rs2.45 per litre, effective from Tuesday, August 4.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Monday revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products under the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism.

The price of Motor Spirit (petrol) was decreased by Rs4.08 per litre, taking it from Rs336.03 to Rs331.95 per litre.

The price of HSD went down by Rs2.45 per litre, from Rs392.38 to Rs389.93 per litre.

The new prices will remain in effect until tomorrow, in line with the government’s ongoing practice of adjusting fuel prices based on international oil markets and other cost factors.

In the previous review on Friday, the government decreased the prices of petrol and HSD by Re0.12 and Re0.66 per litre, respectively.
