KARACHI: Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi on Friday invited American businesses to invest in Pakistan, particularly in Sindh, as there were big opportunities in artificial intelligence, infrastructure, information technology, agriculture, dairy and livestock.

During a meeting with a visiting US business delegation here at the Governor’s House, the governor said Pakistan offered a business-friendly environment, a growing consumer market and a young workforce. Both the federal and Sindh governments were committed to facilitating foreign investment.

Led by Muhammad Hanif Channa of the Embassy of Pakistan in the United States, the delegation included representatives of Pakistani-American business organisations and executives from companies operating in technology, engineering, insurance and other sectors. Prominent Pakistani businessmen Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, Arshad Wali Muhammad and Ahmed Chinoy also attended the meeting.

The discussions focused on expanding trade and investment cooperation between Pakistan and the United States, with particular emphasis on Sindh’s investment potential and opportunities in emerging and traditional industries.

Hashmi encouraged American companies to explore investment opportunities across sectors including artificial intelligence, infrastructure, agriculture, dairy, livestock and information technology.

The governor also said Pakistan remained committed to regional peace and stability while safeguarding its sovereignty and national interests.

Members of the delegation welcomed the investment opportunities available in Sindh and expressed interest in exploring partnerships in artificial intelligence, infrastructure, agriculture, information technology and other sectors.

They said Pakistan’s economic potential, skilled workforce and expanding market offered promising prospects for international investors.

Both sides agreed to strengthen economic cooperation by promoting private-sector partnerships, expanding trade and investment, encouraging technology transfer and exploring collaboration in strategic sectors, including advanced technologies and infrastructure.
