ISLAMABAD: Security forces thwarted a major terrorist plot in Balochistan on Wednesday by intercepting and destroying two explosives-laden vehicles and killing four alleged Indian-sponsored terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Khuzdar district.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was launched on intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists belonging to “Fitna al Hindustan.”
During the operation, troops detected the movement of two Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIEDs) accompanied by terrorists. Acting swiftly, security forces intercepted and destroyed both explosives-laden vehicles, while neutralising the four terrorists operating them.
The ISPR said sanitisation operations were continuing in the area to eliminate any remaining terrorists.
It added that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue their counterterrorism campaign under the Azm-e-Istehkam framework, approved by the federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, to eliminate what it described as foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
